Marie Elaine Muzzillo, known affectionately as Elaine to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, in Ramsey, New Jersey. Born on February 28, 1943, in the Bronx, New York, Elaine's vibrant spirit and joyful heart touched everyone she met throughout her 83 years.
Elaine is survived by her loving husband, Ronald E. Muzzillo, with whom she shared a beautiful and enduring marriage. She was a devoted mother to her children, Darlene Ferraro and Michael Muzzillo.
Her son-in-law, Nicholas Ferraro, held a special place in her heart, as did her late daughter, Tammy Partin, whose memory continued to shine brightly in Elaine's life. The joy of her later years was found in her grandchildren, Nicholas Michael Ferraro and his wife Daria, and Ashley Nicole Ferraro, along with her fiancé Thomas Cosgriff. Elaine cherished her role as a grandmother and embraced every moment with her family.
A proud graduate of Mount Carmel High School in the Bronx, Elaine's passion for Italian cuisine led her to a fulfilling career as a cooking instructor at Ramsey High School. She imparted her culinary skills and love for Italian cooking to many eager adult students, enriching their lives with her knowledge and warmth. Her commitment to her heritage was further evident in her active participation in the UNICO Italian-American organization, where she served with dedication and enthusiasm.
Elaine's generosity extended to her community through her volunteer work with the Valley Hospital Auxiliary, where she contributed her time and energy to help others in need. A devout Christian, she lived her faith through her actions, offering compassion and friendship to all.
Beyond her formal roles, Elaine was known for her many interests that brought joy to her life and to those around her. An avid gardener, she tended to her plants with the same care and attention she gave to her relationships. Her hands were rarely still, as she was often found crocheting beautiful creations that would become cherished keepsakes.
Elaine's greatest pleasure was spending time with her family and friends, where her loving, funny, and friendly nature made every gathering memorable.
Those who knew Elaine will remember her for the laughter that followed her stories, the warmth of her embrace, and the love that she so freely gave. Her legacy is one of joy, kindness, and the countless meals shared around the table, where friends became family.
Elaine's life will be celebrated in a manner that honors the richness of the bonds she formed and the lives she touched. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the memories she created will continue to bring comfort and smiles to those who were fortunate enough to know her. Elaine's life was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived, full of love, friendship, and the simple pleasures that make each day worthwhile. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
