Marilyn Gigliuto Obituary

Our beloved Marilyn J. Gigliuto (nee Glass), 88, of Mahwah, New Jersey, formerly of Upper Saddle River, New Jersey, entered into eternal glory on January 10.  She was born to Albert and Marie Glass in Jersey City, New Jersey. Marilyn was predeceased by her loving husband, Sebastian Gigliuto.  Marilyn was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, graduated from Dickenson High School in the Class of 1950. After high school she attended and graduated Katherine Gibbs School.  Marilyn began her employment as an executive secretary for Elmer Lower.  Mr. Lower took Marilyn through the networks of CBS, NBC until he became the president of ABC.  After twelve wonderful and exciting years working with Mr. Lower, Marilyn left to start her family in 1966.  After raising her family, she began working for Father Jack McDermott at the Church of the Presentation, then she worked for Sharplan Lasers, Mercedes Benz and Osteonics.  After retiring, Marilyn enjoyed volunteering at the Villa Marie Claire for aging nuns and became involved as the treasurer of what is now known as the Presentation Senior Group until the end of 2018.  She was an active member of two senior groups until the end of 2019. Marilyn also enjoyed volunteering at the VA Hospital in Paramus, New Jersey, on bingo night, until the end of 2019.  In 2000 Marilyn joined Focus on Solutions as the office manager where she was a total asset and successfully organized their office.  She enjoyed this job tremendously and looked forward to going to work every day. Her bosses and co-workers kept her smiling and laughing at work right up until the week before she passed.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter Maria Gigliuto, her son Louis Gigliuto, his wife and their four children.  Her daughter Suzanne DiPillo, her husband, their three children, and Marilyn is blessed with four great grandchildren.

Marilyn enjoyed the house in Lavallette, New Jersey, traveling, Broadway musicals, lunches with her friends, visiting casinos, she liked watching Dancing with the Stars, reading and she took great pride in preparing dinners for her grandkids after a day at the pool, and on holidays, taking her grandkids and family friends to plays, Marilyn loved her weekly visits to Stations 818 who kept her looking beautiful and updated on the latest buzz. Marily passed from a lung-related condition she lived with for over 15 years. Marilyn enjoyed putting great detail and attention into the little things.

Private services were held on Tuesday, January 18.  Marilyn is laid to rest with her dearly departed family at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover, New Jersey.
