Mary Angela Krupinski (nee Miedlar), of Mahwah, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, December 17, 2020, at the age of 99. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, in 1970. Her family takes solace in the knowledge that they are finally reunited after 50 years apart. Mary was also predeceased by her sisters, Stella Oliver, Lottie Strong and Ann Krupinski. She was a life-long member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Mahwah. Mary is survived by her children, Joyce Hammerstein (John) of Virginia Beach, VA, Ronald Krupinski (Debbie) of Mahwah and Gail Krupinski (Edward) of Fort Myers, FL, her grandchildren Diane Cross (Brian) of Virginia Beach, VA, and Matthew Hammerstein of Williamsburg, VA, her great-grandchildren, Andrew and Alex Cross, and her sister Ceil Reid (William) of Mahwah, in addition to many nieces and nephews. During WWII Mary was a “Rosie the Riveter” building airplanes at the Curtiss-Wright plant. Mary retired from Avon in Suffern, NY in 1986.
Visitation will be held for Mary on Monday, December 28, 2020 from 1-5 PM with a service being conducted at 3:30 PM at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Mahwah Emergency Services Corp., Valley Hospice in Paramus, or the Macular Degeneration Research organization. Mary will be remembered for her love of her extended family, chicken parm and blackberry sours.
Interment will take place in May 2021 in celebration of Mary’s 100th birthday. We know that Mary and Joe enjoyed their pierogis together in heaven on Christmas Eve and maybe even danced a polka or two.
