Matthew T. Cavanagh

It is with profound sadness that we share the sudden passing of our beloved brother, Matt Cavanagh. Born on July 3, 1968, Matt was not only our brother but a best friend and confidant. Matt had a heart of gold and a generous spirit; always ready to lend a hand to family and any of his many friends and colleagues.

Matt was a graduate of St. Paul RC School, Ramsey High School and attended Ramapo College. He was passionate about his career in the food industry and truly cared about his many coworkers over the years. He was an avid sports fan, suffering through each Mets season with unwavering support!

Matt is survived by his five siblings; Ken Cavanagh, Ellen Mangano (Joe), Jim Cavanagh (Vaughn), Mary McLean (Terry), and Bill Cavanagh (Lisa). He was predeceased by his parents Rosalyn and James Cavanagh of Ramsey.

He was adored by his 10 nieces and nephews who were blessed by his generosity over the years. Matt brought joy and laughter to every family gathering and will be remembered for his kindness and infectious laughter by all who knew him.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home in Ramsey on Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
