Michael Shasho, 72, died on April 17th, 2026. He was born on March 22nd, 1954, and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Michael was a lifelong entrepreneur. He owned and operated Jack Michaels Jewelers until 2001. He later spent his time buying and selling Ford Broncos with his close friend. His personal interests included photography, sailboat racing, and playing poker, where he was known as “Mad Dog Mike.” On nice days, he enjoyed mowing the lawn and birdwatching from his office window.
Michael loved good food, especially oysters. He could talk to anyone, anywhere, about anything, and he had a gift for making people feel like they had known him for years.
Above all, Michael was a father. He was proud of his daughters, Olivia and Erika, for whom he would do literally anything. Olivia and Erika were the center of his world. He carried them everywhere, in conversation, in his heart, and literally on his arms, where their names were tattooed. Nothing mattered more to him than being their father. Some of his favorite memories were of time spent together with Dolores and the children in their Ramsey home. He also loved teasing his daughters, especially by dancing at Johnny Rockets. He was looking forward to Erika’s upcoming marriage to Alec, whom he loved endlessly.
He is survived by his daughters, Olivia and Erika; his ex-wife, Dolores; his brothers, Nathan and David; his nephews, Darren, Dustin, and Jeffrey; and his niece, Ronny. He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Alice (Menaged) Shasho; his brother, Roy; and his niece, Alyssa.
Michael’s warmth, humor, and generosity left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him. He is deeply loved and forever remembered.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 1-5 PM at Michael's home.
