It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael J. White, MD, of Allendale, NJ, on April 6, 2026.
Michael was born on July 4, 1959, in Queens, NY, to Marie and Tom White. He came into the world like a firecracker and lived his life much the same way. If there was a crowd, you could usually find him at the center, holding court. From his earliest days, Michael was a rebel and a force of nature, living life on his own terms. He was vibrant, one of a kind, and left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Michael graduated early from Floral Park Memorial High School and went on to attend the New York Institute of Technology, where he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the State University of New York at Stony Brook Medical School. He completed a surgical internship at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, followed by radiology internship at Winthrop Hospital and the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He later completed a fellowship in cross-sectional imaging at SUNY Stony Brook.
For more than 30 years, Michael practiced radiology, touching countless lives through his work. He was known for his gregarious, outgoing nature and his brilliant mind. He never shied away from a spirited debate and had a way of making his point known. Michael loved coaching his children’s basketball teams and always came up with very unique names for the plays he created.
Michael is survived by his wife of 43 years, Liz Cooke White; his children, of whom he loved dearly and was incredibly proud of, daughter Jessica and son Daniel, along with his beloved daughter-in-law Deborah. The light of Michael's life was his family, especially his two beautiful granddaughters, Eleanor and Harper.
A celebration of Michael's life will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 9:45 AM at St. Elizabeth's RC Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave, Wyckoff, NJ 0748, followed by a reception at the Allendale Community Center, 210 West Crescent Ave, Allendale, NJ 07401.
