Norma Addessi Obituary

Norma Del Moro Addessi, 93, of Wayne, died peacefully on February 15, 2023. Born and raised in Paterson, Norma lived in Ramsey, Mahwah, and Wanaque before moving to Wayne. During most of her vocational years, she was an administrative assistant in New Jersey and New York. She was also employed by the Garden State Parkway Authority and was elected “Miss Garden State Parkway” by her co-workers. After marrying her husband Frank and retiring, she served as a lector at St. Paul’s Church in Ramsey for 30 years and for 20 years in Palm Beach, Florida, where she and her husband spent the winter seasons. Along with her husband, she was a member of the Lazarus Committee at St. Paul’s church, a member of its Parish Council and Deanery, and chaired its Parish Life Committee. During their marriage, Norma and Frank traveled extensively throughout Europe, the Caribbean, Hawaii, Egypt and Greece. As residents of the Ridge Garden Condos in Mahwah, Norma and her husband both served on the board of directors; he was president and she was secretary. Before moving to Wayne and while living in her Wanaque home, she was a member of the Amici Club, its Travel Club, and its single women’s dinner club. Norma, was, however, proudest of her interest in and work for the mentally ill. She was a member of the Concerned Parents of Greystone Psychiatric Family Support Group. She also founded and was President of the family support group at Harbor House in Paterson; their goal was to encourage the mentally ill to produce a monthly newsletter, which they entitled “Harbor House News.”

She is survived by her son, Daniel Vicino, her step-children Carol and Raymond Frappolli, Nancy Addessi, and Nancy Westgate-Addessi and Joan Addessi; grandchildren Lisa and Brian, Dana and Rob, Brook, and Matt and Kyle; and great-grandchildren; her nieces Dianna Del Moro Hoffman, Sandra Del Moro Guiliano, her nephews, James Del Moro and Michael Del Moro and numerous great nieces and nephews as well as great-great nieces and nephews. Norma was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank, who died in 2010, and his son, Richard. She was also predeceased by her dear brother, Vito, in 1970, and his wife Grace, in 2013, by her loving sister, Anne, in 2018, and by her parents, Michael and Tilde Del Moro.
