The family of Patricia Ann Collins, announces her passing at the age of 93. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of her life on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
“Pat” was born to the late Margaret and Harold Harvey on July 13, 1932, in Boston, MA. She grew up in Braintree, MA, and raised her family in Weymouth, MA, Westlake, OH and Upper Saddle River, NJ. In 2018 she moved to Basking Ridge, NJ, where she was surrounded by family who loved her deeply.
Pat was the beloved wife of the late Harold R. "Harry" Collins, with whom she shared a lifetime partnership until his passing in 2015. They married in 1954, and welcomed their first son while stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC.
Pat and Harry's legacy continues through her devoted children: Michael and his wife Laura, Stephen and his wife Debora, James and his wife Nancy, and Margaret Swecker and her husband Chuck. Her grandchildren, Benjamin, Matthew and his wife Nelida, Olivia, Grace, Conor and his wife Kayla, Brian, and Dana, will remember her for the wisdom she imparted and her love of hearing stories of their day-to-day lives. Pat is also survived by her sister Donna McGuire and husband Donald.
Pat was a proud graduate of Thayer Academy in Braintree, MA, where she played softball and sang in the Glee Club. She was devoted to her role as a homemaker, ensuring that her family was cared for, supported and loved. She enjoyed involving herself in the lives of her children, as a Cub Scout Den Mother, Girl Scout Leader and Catechism Coordinator.
After her children graduated from high school, Pat worked in the purchasing office of Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company (A&P), headquartered in Montvale, NJ.
Known for her kind heart, she had a way of making everyone she met feel welcome and cared for. She lived her life guided by compassion and deep devotion. Her family fondly remembers the phrases she often shared with them, especially, “Everything is Good-Good!” and also “Oh, Hi Lovey!” every time she picked up a phone call.
Pat’s ability to give without expecting anything in return defined her character and left an enduring impact on her friends and family. Her vibrant spirit, love and the strength she shared will be deeply missed, but will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
