Peter A. Reganato, 76, died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on July 1, 2022. Peter is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia; sons Joseph and Anthony; daughter Melissa; son-in-law, Brian; daughter-in-law, Caroline; his eight grandchildren, Timothy, Josie, Jack, Lucas, Anthony, Tomas, Gianni, and Matteo; his sister, Frances; brother-in-law, Frank; brother-in-law, George; and sister-in-law, Lorraine. He was predeceased by his parents, Millie and Rocco, and beloved daughter-in-law, Francesca.
Peter grew up on the Lower East Side in New York City in the 1950s and often reminisced about the good old days playing stickball, singing doo-wop, and watching the Yankees. He began his career as a splicer’s assistant for New York Telephone and later held executive positions at large corporations before choosing to run his own small business.
He moved to Ramsey, NJ in 1980, where he raised his children and made many contributions to the local community, including volunteering for the Ramsey Baseball Association, St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, and Unico. He was always willing to help a friend or family member in need. There is nothing he loved more than having his family together. He also enjoyed watching and coaching baseball, listening to doo-wop, and mixing up an egg cream the way they did in his old neighborhood.
Family and friends are invited to pay tribute to Peter on Sunday, July 10 from 3 pm to 7 pm at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Avenue, Ramsey, NJ. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Ramsey on Monday, July 11 at 10 am. Interment will immediately follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah.
