Raffaela "Lina" (Franco) Tubito

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Raffaela “Lina” Tubito (nee Franco) at the age of 76 on April 14, 2022, of Mahwah NJ. Born on June 15, 1945, in San Martino Valle Caudina Italy to Martino and Rosina Sanges. Wife of late husband Massimo “Max” Tubito.  Mother of Francesca Ferraioli and her husband Edward,  and Vincenzo Tubito and daughter-in-law Jamie.  Loving sister of Luisa and Salvatore. Sister-in-law to Donato, Daniel, Elio, Samuel, Maria, Santa and Anna. And a loving Grandmother “Nonna” of Jessica, Anthony, Jovanna and Angelina.

In 1968 Lina married the love of her life, Massimo, whom she met in Switzerland.  Soon they moved to Hoboken, NJ, in America to start their new life and family together.  She worked as a seamstress in a Hoboken Coat factory, taking care of her two children while learning to drive and speak English in a new and unfamiliar place.  But with the strength that Lina always had, she embraced the challenges, and with love, found time to take care of her husband’s every need, as the traditional Italian wife would. 

After the passing of Massimo in 2005, her passion transitioned to her grandchildren.  Her cooking, caring, spoiling and devotion to them allowed for her to overcome the grief. 

With tearful eyes we watched her suffer recently with her health and knew that she was getting tired and was ready to go up in Heaven with her dear Lord and be reunited with her loving husband.

Although we loved you dearly, we had to let you go. Nonna will forever be our guardian angel, until we meet again.
