Ralph J. Vita

Ralph John Vita, 76, of Mahwah, NJ formerly from Suffern, NY joined the Lord on Sunday, April 23rd.  He was born on November 27, 1946 in Suffern, NY.  Son of Dominick and Nancy (Speranza) Vita.  Ralph graduated from Suffern High School in 1964 and went on to the University of Tampa.  Ralph also served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Ralph was employed by Bennett Brothers in Mahwah where he met his loving wife Joann (Schwack) Vita.  He then went on to work for the United States Postal Service for 35 years. 

Ralph is survived by his sister Natlie Wrynn (husband James) of Tuxedo, NY, predeceased by his mother Nancy, father Dominick and sister Mary DeJoie(husband Anthony) of Mahwah, NJ. Ralph was the loving father of Sarah and Christina Vita, of Mahwah and Karen (Vita) Robator and her husband Jeffrey of Mahwah. One of Ralph’s greatest joys in life were his grandchildren Kaylee, Cameron, Peyton and Brady Robator.

Ralph was a faithful man, he had a heart of gold and truly cared about others.  He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ramsey where he served as an Elder and sang in the church choir.  He loved to cheer on the Yankees and Jets.  He loved collecting memorabilia on the Erie Lackawanna Railroad, listening to the radio, and spending time with his family and friends. A private service will be held on Friday, April 28th and a Celebration of Life will be held at The First Presbyterian Church of Ramsey, 15 Shuart Lane Ramsey, NJ  on May 13th at 1:00.
