Richard Joseph Branda

Richard J. Branda, 79, of Ramsey, New Jersey, passed away on October 8, 2025.

Richard, son of the late Joseph and Vera Branda was born in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. Richard grew up in Brooklyn, New York, where he created countless fond memories with family and lifelong friends.

He was the devoted husband of Katherine Branda, and the proud father of Jennifer, Nicole, and Joseph. He is also survived by his beloved daughter in law Alina and son in laws Steven and Anthony. Richard was a cherished grandfather to seven grandchildren — Anthony, Julianna, Sophia, Giuseppe, Angelina, Joseph, and Antonia — who were his pride and joy.

He is also survived by his loving sisters Patricia and Joann, his sister in-law Cathy, his brothers-in-laws Paul and Tom, along with his brother and sister in law Anthony and Bernice. Richard was predeceased by his brother John Branda. He dearly loved his seven nieces and nephews and endless great-nieces and nephews, all of whom brought him immense happiness.

A proud Army veteran, Richard was a 46-year resident of Ramsey, NJ, where he and Katherine raised their family. For decades, he commuted to New York City, working at the American Stock Exchange, where he built a long and successful career. 

Outside of work, Richard enjoyed life to the fullest — from fishing with his brother, to sharing good meals at his favorite restaurants with his dear friends. 

Richard was also blessed with lifelong friendships and is survived by his dear cousins Jimmy and Angelo, who were like brothers to him.

He will be remembered for his generosity , character, loyalty, and love for his family and friends. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1 PM - 5 PM at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Avenue, Ramsey, NJ. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 13, 2025 at 10 AM at St. Paul R.C. Church in Ramsey, NJ. Cremation will be private.
