Richard "Dick" Greeley, 83, passed away on June 28, 2024, at Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey. Born on July 2, 1940, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Dick proudly served in the Army 1957-1960. Dick was a respected and hardworking business owner of D&G Roofing. Following his retirement, he found great joy in fishing, boating, and horseback riding activities that reflected his love for the outdoors. His indoor passion was watching cowboy movies and his favorite actor was John Wayne.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Andrea Greeley; his parents, Dorothy and George Greeley; his brother, George Greeley Jr.; his granddaughter Valynn Meccia and his daughters, Susan Meccia and Doreen Carr.
Dick was a beloved family man, survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Dave Vanmansart; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Cara Greeley; son-in-law David Meccia; and numerous cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including Dave Paul and Erica Meccia, Lea and Patrick Burgess, Kyle and Cecelia Meccia, David Lawson and Brittany Vanmansart, Andrea and Steven Sietsma, Shane and Samantha Vanmansart, Cheyenne and Addy Decker, Damien and Elvis Carr, Tori and RJ Greeley. His great-grandchildren Ayla and Brady Sietsma, Ryan and Madison Decker, David and Liam Vanmansart, Ben and Allen Falato, Shane Richard Vanmansart, Hannah and Kenadee Burgess, his many nieces and nephews, also survive him.
Dick's life was marked by his dedication to his family and his business. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024 from 9-11 AM with a service being conducted at 11:15 AM at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey, NJ. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ.
