Richard "Richie" Palecek

Richard “Richie” Palecek on July 22, 2025 of Mahwah, NJ formerly of North Bergen, NJ. Loving husband of Wendy (nee Moretti). Richie is predeceased by his parents George and Martha. Dear brother of Stephen Palecek and wife Mary, Geraldine Gargiulo and husband Neil and Joan Lachnicht and husband Harold. Uncle of Stephen Ryan, Jennifer Couse and husband Chris, David Palecek and wife Dawn, Beth Palecek, Laura Agresta and husband Edmund, Megan Lachnicht, Kara Neal and husband Sean and Krista Gargiulo. Great uncle of Conor, Julian, Emma, Owen, Elle, Elizabeth, Ethan, Edmund, Giuliana, Chianna, Mackenzie and Averie. Nephew of Beverly Palecek. Brother-in-law of Claudia Zebell, Les Moretti and wife Kimi and Heidi Duckett and husband Robert. Also survived by his in-laws children Blake, Craig and wife Belicia, Anne, Bryce, Trevor, Robert, his in-laws grandson Jahn and his friend Joe Dacchille and his wife Margaret.

Richie graduated with a BA and MA from Seton Hall and worked in the music industry for a world famous composer for years. He was devoted to his family especially his nieces, nephews and their kids. Rich was notable for living a life of integrity. He is remembered for saying “you have one chance to do the right thing.”

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM with a service being conducted at 2:00 PM. Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Richie's name to the Community Food Bank of NJ or PETS FOR VETS.
