Robert "Bob" Galorenzo Obituary

Robert “Bob” Galorenzo, 69, of Upper Saddle River, NJ, formerly of Ramsey, NJ passed away on August 12, 2021 at The Valley Hospital.  Cherished husband to Lisa (nee Capaci), loving father to Mark and wife Jaime, Michael and wife Caitlin, Cara and husband Greg.  Adored grandfather to Nicholas Jude, Gia Rose, Giuliana Marie, Ava Marie, and Anthony Robert. Dear brother to Judy and Charles Schreiber. Beloved brother-in-law to Diane and Jim Urbano, Mary Capaci and Michael Moore, Tony and Diane Capaci, Carla and Anthony Candelmo.  Uncle to fifteen nieces and nephews whom he truly loved.  He had a gift for making each one feel special.

Bob was born in Garfield and moved to Paramus when he was twelve years old.  He graduated from Paramus High School and went on to earn a degree in Psychology from Rutgers University.  There, he became a brother of Kappa Phi Fraternity.  He continued his post graduate education at the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine where he earned honors and served as President of his Senior Class.  He was accepted into a prestigious residency program in Memphis, TN. Upon completion, he was asked to become Director of the Residency Program.

ln 1983, Bob and Lisa returned to NJ with their young family in tow.  lt was then that he opened his practice, Family Foot Care Center, and subsequently joined the medical staff at The Valley Hospital as one of the first podiatrists.  He served as the Department Chief of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery for over three decades.  During that time, he earned the respect of his colleagues, as well as the gratitude and appreciation of countless patients and their families.  Bob retired from active practice after 33 years of dedicated service to his patients and to The Valley Hospital.

At every stage of his life, Bob made good friends and valued each one dearly.  He was an avid, albeit always improving golfer, passionate traveler, Corvette enthusiast, fisherman and chef.  He was a true Renaissance Man.

Besides supporting The Valley Hospital and its good work, he was a loyal benefactor to his Church and The Daniel Galorenzo Foundation and a loyal, enthusiastic fan of Bergen Catholic Wrestling.  Known to enjoy a nice bottle of wine and a good cigar, Bob was happiest spending time with his family and friends over a prolonged, select menu of great fare.  He will long be remembered for his infectious laugh.  He shared his good life with all he knew.

There will be a Memorial to honor Bob's life on Thursday, November 18, 2021 beginning with 5 PM Mass at St. Paul RC Church in Ramsey.  Arrangements are being handled by Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, Ramsey.
