Rosa L. Meyer

MEYER, ROSA L. (nee LINK), 80, of Mahwah unexpectedly went home to the Lord on September 27, 2023. Rosa was a woman of deep faith and strength, never meeting a stranger, and always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Most important to her were her family and friends, whom she took great joy in welcoming into her home for a wonderful meal. Even in the leanest of times, there was always room for one more at her table. Rosa is the beloved mother of Heidi Sporel and husband Eric of Westford, MA, Cord Meyer and wife Jodie of Mahwah, and Karen Roe and husband Michael, also of Mahwah. She is the cherished grandmother of Eric Sporel, Laura Sporel, Allison Meyer, and Katie Sporel, sharing a unique, special bond with each only in the way that a grandmother could.
Rosa was born in Hungary and came to the United States in 1952, living for many years in Clifton, NJ before moving to Mahwah in 1977. She began her career at AT&T before spending 17 years as a stay-at-home mom. After returning to work, she spent many years working as an office manager for BASF Corp. and for Bergen County Social Services. Rosa was predeceased by her husband, Cord Meyer in 1980, her parents Andrew and Mary Link, sister, Mary Burghoffer, brothers John and Andrew Link, nephew Andrew Burghoffer, and nieces Marianne Link and Ann Link.
Friends and family will be received on Monday, October 2nd from 4:00- 8:00 PM at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Avenue, Ramsey. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 3rd at 10:00 AM at St. Paul RC Church, Ramsey (ALL MEET AT CHURCH). Entombment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah.
