Sarah (Lusciandrello) Scillieri

Sarah Rose Scillieri (nee Lusciandrello), 94, of Pompton Plains, NJ, formerly of Upper Saddle River, NJ died peacefully in her home on Monday, March 29, 2021. She was raised in Garfield, NJ, proudly earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from William Paterson University and a Master’s Degree from Montclair State University. Sarah taught Business Education at Lodi High School and Spring Valley High School for over thirty-five years. The beloved wife of the late Salvatore (Sam) Scillieri for nearly sixty years, Sam and Sarah enjoyed a membership to the Ridgewood Country Club and a winter getaway in Vero Beach, FL. Over the last fourteen years, Sarah was an active member of the Cedar Crest community in Pompton Plains, NJ. The loving mother of Richard Scillieri and wife Mary of Mahwah, NJ, and David Scillieri and wife Maria of New York City, NY. Cherished grandmother of Richard Joseph Scillieri, Leah Scillieri and Grace Scillieri. She was a favorite of her many nieces and nephews including, Grace and Randy Ocheltree, Donna and John Von Bodegon, James and Gloria Lusciandrello, MaryAnn and Peter Macaluso, Vincent and Joanne Marotto, Paul Silirie (deceased), Martin Silirie (deceased), Elaine and Robert Frasanito, Kevin and Karolla Silirie, John (deceased) and Peggy Scillieri, Peter and Miriam Scillieri, Linda and George Wagner, and Barbara Parrish. In addition, 22 grandnieces and grandnephews who all knew her, loved her, were happy to call her Aunt Sarah.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 from 4-8 PM at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey, NJ. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 7, 202 at 10 AM at the Church of the Presentation, 271 W. Saddle River Road, Upper Saddle River, NJ. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah, NJ.
