Sharon (O'Shea) Pritchard

Sharon Pritchard, (nee O’Shea) 70 of Stroudsburg, PA passed away surrounded by family in the home of her mother and sister on January 3, 2023.

Born to Patrick and Marion (Horvat) O’Shea on September 1, 1952 in Newark, NJ. Sharon grew up in East Orange, NJ and met her husband Albert in 1973. They married May 5, 1974 in East Orange and lived in Clifton, NJ before moving to Upper Greenwood Lake to start a family.

They had their first two daughters, Courtney and Allison, before moving to Stroudsburg, PA in 1986, just before the birth of their youngest daughter Sarah.

Sharon loved engaging with people so it was no wonder that she would become a hairdresser, a server at various establishments, and a seniors aerobics instructor. She drew people to her with an outgoing personality, and will be remembered for kindness, generosity and creativity.

Her joy for drawing and painting were rediscovered later in life. Her artwork was discovered by Rep. Maureen Madden (PA) and she was honored by the “Watercolors by Sharon Pritchard” exhibit in 2018. Her Facebook page is “Watercolors on Display by Sharon Pritchard.”

She was predeceased by her parents, Patrick and Marion. She is survived by her husband Albert Pritchard; her siblings: Patricia, Michael, Thomas and Daniel O’Shea; her daughters: Courtney, Allison and Sarah; her grandchildren, who called her Nana: Linda Fourong (Jakob), Eithen, Kianna, Jason, Caitlyn, Leahm, Aiden and Caleb; and expecting her first great-grandchild.

A shared funeral for Sharon and mother Marion, who also passed peacefully at home on 12/19/2022, will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary R.C. Church at 10AM on Saturday April 22nd.
