SWEENEY, SHAWN, 51, of Ocoee, FL formerly of Upper Saddle River, NJ and Lodi, NJ died peacefully at his home on Thursday, February 4, 2021. Beloved husband of 22 years to JoAnna (nee Miller). Loving father of Rachael and a fur daddy of Charlie. Cherished son of Charlotte L. (nee Baldino) & the late James J. (2011). Devoted brother of James B. & his wife Maryanne and brother-in-law of Debra & her husband Anthony Alfaro, Ashley Laurentino & the late Tracey Miller Jordan (2014). Adored uncle of Amanda & her husband Christopher Serafin, Caitlin Sweeney, Julia Fiola, Nicholas & Anthony Jordan, Milani & Joey Alfaro. The greatest friend and brother firefighter of many. Shawn was the CEO of Primizie Flatbread Crisps. He was a former member of the Upper Saddle River (USR) and Lodi Fire Departments. Shawn held the Chief, Asst. Chief, Captain, President, Vice President, and Recording Secretary positions in his 18-year tenure on the USRFD. He loved fishing, trips to Las Vegas, and just hanging with the guys. His family was of utmost importance and he cherished the time spent with them. Words can not express the impact of his gentle heart-warming soul. He will be missed dearly by all. Friends and family will be received on Sunday, February 7th from 6-8 PM and Monday, February 8th from 4-8 PM at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Avenue, Ramsey. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Presentation, 271 W Saddle River Rd, USR. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah.
