Steven Grunblatt

Steven Grunblatt, 61, of Mahwah, New Jersey, passed away on December 18, 2025, surrounded by his family and dog, Shea.  Born on June 11, 1964, in Manhasset, NY, Steven was the beloved son of the late Jack and Stella Grunblatt.  He grew up in Forest Hills, NY and graduated from Forest Hills High School.  Steve’s first love was baseball, both playing and watching.  He went on to play baseball both in high school and in college at the University of Pennsylvania.  There, he earned his degree in Economics and Management Information Systems.

Following his education, Steven embarked on an impressive 40-year career in Information Technology.  He worked in Manhattan for many years, beginning his career at Financial Security Assurance where he met his wife, Elizabeth.  He continued his path in the financial industry culminating as CIO of Patriot Bank in Stamford, CT.  His dedication and commitment to his profession earned him deep respect from colleagues, clients and vendors.

Known for his sense of humor and infectious laugh, Steve will be remembered fondly for bringing a smile to your face with an admirable ease.  He loved his family, sports, music and was a devout foodie. He had a gift for helping people be their best selves, whether it be coaching on the baseball field or the basketball court, mentoring colleagues, or with friends in his everyday life. His sincerity and integrity were paramount to who he was.

Steven is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth.  He was the proud and devoted father to Sara and Eric, a loving brother-in-law to Fred, Kathi and Lou, Mike and Pamela, Bill and Tom.  He was an affectionate uncle to Jess (and Rob), Chris (and Kelly), and Noah Quinn.  He is survived by his many cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025 from 4 PM - 8 PM at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Avenue, Ramsey, NJ.
