Steven Tynan, 64, of Mahwah, NJ passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 7th. Steven was born on September 21, 1960 in Brooklyn, NY, moved to Ramsey, NJ in 1967 and settled in Mahwah, NJ.
Steven is the beloved son of Genevieve Tynan of West Milford, NJ, predeceased by his father William Tynan in 1985. He is the cherished brother of his siblings Janet Razus (and Noel), Barbara Wichlinski (and Mark), Eileen Heptig (and Joseph), Andrew Tynan (and Donna) and Mary Phalon, whose husband Michael predeceased Steven 2 years ago. He is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews who adored their uncle, Alana, Caitlin, Matthew, Luke, Adam, Sam, Jenna, Melissa, Frank, Zackary and Grace, and 6 great nieces and nephews Carl, Lawrence, Madison, Hunter, Logan and Stella.
Steven worked for Verizon as a Consultant of Account Services for over 30 years. Although working remotely, he had a close bond with his boss Andrea and his co-workers.
Steven loved dogs, the Mets, the Giants (with whom he watched games with Michael for many years enjoying the games, at least the winning ones) a few beers and an Italian hero. He was an avid reader of spy novels and loved to cook. Steven was one of the funniest people you could know and he would have you laughing out loud at his one-liners.
By far Steven's greatest joy and love was his family. Due to the family's size, holiday hosting had to be shared and Steven's two holidays to host were his mother's birthday dinner and Super Bowl Sunday, which were always so much fun albeit a bit loud.
Due to Steven's generous nature, someone will be gifted with the blessing of sight.
Steven was loved dearly, and we will all miss him terribly.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 14th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Avenue, Ramsey, New Jersey.
Inurnment will be on Monday, December 16th at 10:30 at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, Steven's wishes were donations be made to either the ASPCA or to Pancreatic Cancer Research.
