Terrence Picone, 75 a long-time resident of Ramsey, NJ passed away at Valley Hospital after a brief illness on Wednesday April 26, with his loving wife Joann by his side. Terry was born February 26, 1948 in Jersey City to his late parents Frank and Lydia Picone. The family moved to Ramsey in 1950. Terry loved Ramsey and would frequently tell stories about life growing up here. Terry attended Ramsey schools from kindergarten through high school. Graduating with the class of 1966. Also known as Zeke, he remained close with many of those classmates throughout his life. Terry started working for PepsiCo as a computer programmer. Creative and gifted he saw things different than most and soon realized that corporate life was not for him. He was given the opportunity to work as a glazier where he found his passion for glass. That passion blossomed and in 1973 in his garage he founded his company Armour Products. Utilizing his computer skills, he brought the company into the future by expanding into the WWW creating Etchworld.com. With his business partner Sydney St James, the company is celebrating 50 years of success today. A gifted musician, often sharing stories of his days with his band the Deacons and playing at Palisades Amusement Park. Starting as a child with the accordion he quickly learned to play many instruments. Watching Terry’s fingers dance on the strings was pure magic. Throughout his life Terry had a passion for charity. He proudly became a member of the Knights of Columbus Ramsey # 3962 in 2008 ultimately earning his fourth degree. He had strong connection to all animals and supported local animal shelters. Terry was a wonderful photographer and for many years volunteered to photograph the “graduates” of the Valley Hospitals NICU reunions. He loved to see them grow each year. Terry was larger than life, he could fill a room with his presence and light it up with his smile. Most would say Terry “never met a stranger”. He was famous for his stories and loved to share them. He truly lived life to the fullest and will be missed by all. He will forever be in our hearts, rest in power and peace. Terry is survived by Joann his beloved wife and partner of 25 years. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 1, 2023 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey, NJ 07446. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 10 AM at St. Paul RC Church, 200 Wyckoff Ave, Ramsey, NJ 07446. Cremation will be private.
