Thelma (Picchio) Ragozzino

Thelma Ragozzino passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026, at the age of 98, after a long and full life.

Born on March 5, 1928, in West New York, New Jersey.  Those fortunate enough to know her will remember her as funny, creative, and deeply selfless. Her life was marked by devotion to her family and friends.

Thelma pursued her passion for fashion at The Traphagen School of Fashion in New York, after which she went on to work as a fashion designer in New York City from the 1940s through the 1980s.  Thelma loved sewing, painting, cooking, and gardening, and raising her children and grandchildren, but family was the center of Thelma’s life, and she leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through those who survive her. 

She was married for 37 years to Gino Ragozzino, who died in 1986.  She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Gina Avino, and her husband, Joe Avino; her son, Philip Ragozzino, and his wife, Tina Ragozzino; and her son, Louis Ragozzino, and his wife, Anne Ragozzino, as well as her nephews Robert Berger and John Bellavita.  She was a devoted grandmother to Joey Avino, Zachary Avino, Mia Avino, Max Ragozzino, Hannah Ragozzino, Jacob Ragozzino, and Grace Ragozzino, and she was blessed to meet her great-granddaughters, Remi Avino, Samantha Ragozzino, and Morgan Ragozzino. 

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
