Thomas James Walsh

Thomas J. Walsh, 68, of Mahwah, died August 13, 2022 from complications of a stroke.

Tom was born in Queens, NY, and lived most of his life in Mahwah.  He was a graduate of Mahwah High School and Lincoln Technical Institute.  He had a long career at Mahwah Ford, where he recently celebrated his 40th anniversary.  If you had your car repaired there sometime in the past four decades, Tom probably worked on it.

He is survived by his mother, Nancy, sisters Jeanne (Mark) Tyler, Kathleen Walsh, brother Michael (Kim) Walsh, sister Erin (Greg) George, and brother-in-law Bruce Bird. He is also survived by nine nieces and nephews: Jeffrey and Patrick Bird; Christopher and Daniel Tyler; Matthew, Amelia and Ryan Walsh; and Alessandra and Ian George.  He is predeceased by his father, James, in 2010, and sister, Nancy Bird, in 2007.

Tom leaves behind many lifelong close friends and coworkers, who will miss his hearty laugh and willingness to help anyone who needed him.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 5:30 PM at Immaculate Heart of Mary RC Church in Mahwah.
