Trudy Bisbe passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her children and grandchildren February 25, 2024. She was 98 years old. Gertrude Helene Bisbe was born on Sept. 29, 1925 in Lustenau, Austria. With her parents, Ludwig and Mathilda Feurstein, she emigrated to the U.S. as a young child.
Trudy grew up in Fairview and Ridgefield Park, NJ. After high school she was employed at the JCPenney Company where she met her husband, Robert Bisbe, working as secretary to his boss.
Bob was also the son of immigrants, from Spain, Pedro and Theresa Bisbe. The young couple moved to New Milford and then Oradell where they raised their four children. Trudy is preceded in death by her husband, Bob, in 2006 and her older brother, Lou.
She leaves behind four devoted children and their spouses: Bob and Nancy Bisbe, Richard and Debbie Bisbe, Roger and Manon Bisbe and Kathy and Gary Pritchard.
She was a loving grandmother to her nine grandchildren, Michael Bisbe and Christie Modesti, Todd, Scott and Sean Pritchard, Kylen Gabel and Keith Bisbe, Anna and Lisa Bisbe, as well as ten great-grandchildren: Kendall and Lena Bisbe and Mathew, Jack, Samantha, Ella and Kate Gabel, and Nicholas, Melanie, and Emily Modesti.
Trudy was cherished for her kind and gentle manner and for her impeccable taste and sense of style. She was a homemaker par excellence, famous for her decorating talents as well as her Weinerschnitzel and Spaetzel. She was a source of strength and support to each one of her grandchildren. Maintaining her mental acuity and gentle, caring personality to the very end, she was a stellar example of grace and faith to us all.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 28 at 10 AM at St Paul R.C. Church in Ramsey, NJ. She will be buried with her husband at Christ the King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes, NJ.
