Klemt, Warren H., on May 12, 2026 of Ramsey, N.J. Born May 4, 1930, in Jersey City, N.J., and raised in Carlstadt, N.J. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps upon graduation from East Rutherford High School in 1948 and served a four-year tour of duty. During military service, he attended the US Army Engineer School, Fort Belvoir, Va., and served in Japan and Korea as an electrician. As a member of the First Marine Division, he participated in the invasion of Inchon and the capture of Seoul during the Korean Conflict. He was discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He received the Navy Presidential Unit Citation with two bronze stars, the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal with two bronze stars, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation, the United Nations Service medal and the Korean War Service Medal. After his military discharge, he enrolled in Fairleigh Dickinson College in Rutherford, N.J., under the G.I. Bill. He received a BS degree in accounting in October 1955, completing a four-year program in three years. He was employed as a management trainee by the North Jersey Savings and Loan Association in 1955 and served for 34 years. He retired March 31, 1989, as Director, President and Chief Executive Officer. He was a life member of the Marine Corps League, First Marine Division Association and the Ramsey Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a parishioner and usher at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Ramsey. He was predeceased by oldest son Warren (Bud) Klemt, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Gertrude (Tremmel) Klemt; children Robert Klemt and wife Dawn of New Jersey and Dr. Barbara Klemt Boxleitner; grandchildren Lauren Lewis, Danielle Burney, Robert Klemt, Jr., and Denver Bree Boxleitner; and four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 from 9 AM - 11 AM with a service beginning at 11 AM at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah.
