William J. Cupak

William J. Cupak Jr. passed away peacefully on April 11, 2024. Beloved husband of the late Margaret. Loving father of Donna and husband John, and the late David. Cherished son of the late Lena and William Sr.  Dear brother of Robert and Andrew (wife Kathy).

After graduating Mahwah High School, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, and earned 2 Bronze Stars. He spent most of his time in Taipei, Taiwan. Where he served as Military Police and also met the love of his life, Margaret.

Bill loved his family and friends. He worked as a Diesel Mechanic for Shortline Bus Company, from where he retired. And also help operate their family’s restaurant for 30 years. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing with his brother. And sharing stories of his time in the Navy and in Taiwan.

Bill was a quiet, kind and caring person. A friend to all who knew him. And will be missed beyond measure.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from 4 - 8 PM at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Avenue, Ramsey, NJ. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 12 PM Immaculate Heart of Mary R.C. Church, 47 Island Road, Mahwah, NJ. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah.
