William S. Ford

William (Bill) Ford returned to God June 4, 2025, his 92nd birthday. Bill was the loving husband to Jane, his wife of 68 years. He is the cherished father of Lisa and James Osborne – Leland, NC, David and Denise Bussiere Ford – Honesdale, PA, William (Bill) Ford – Ramsey NJ, Maria Ford – Allendale, NJ and Katherine and Michael Rubino – Dumont, NJ. He is the adored grandfather of Alyssa, Kristin, and Sarah, Daniel, David and Matthew, and James and William. 

Bill, raised in Newport RI, graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He joined the Navy and served as a supply officer onboard the U.S.S Glennon, Mediterranean Sea. He was drawn to the nascent computer industry through his involvement in the development of one of the first mainframe systems at the Philadelphia Naval Yard.

On retiring from the Navy, Bill went to work for ITT’s Strategic Missile Defense Program. At the conclusion of that project, Bill took a position with IBM,  where he worked as a senior executive with IBM Business Practices until his retirement. 

Bill always made family his priority.  Every summer Bill gathered his family on LBI and the Outer Banks, creating a cherished tradition and memories that will last a lifetime.

Bill was a faithful member of Guardian Angel Church where he served may years as an alter server and active parishioner. 

Bill was grateful for his blessings, especially his family and his home. He was a good and loving man and will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 from 4-7 PM at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey, NJ. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at 10 AM at Guardian Angel R.C. Church in Allendale, NJ. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah, NJ.
