William Paul Beaulieu, 79, known to his family and friends as Paul, died peacefully in his sleep on July 31, 2022. Paul is survived by his loving wife Judy of 57 years; daughters Suzanne and Lynda; their husbands, Steve Enderlin and Kevin Ochs; grandson George William; brother Allen and his wife Loretta Beaulieu, brother-in-law Larry Gordon; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in passing by his parents A. Rome and Florence Johanna, sister Jean, grandson Benjamin and many other beloved family members.
Paul was born in Pittsburgh PA. His parents moved to Ramsey NJ where he grew up and attended Ramsey High school. He enlisted in the United States Navy in March of 1962 and was stationed on the USS Arcadia in Newport RI. There he was a Pipe-fitter for ship and boat maintenance and repairs. Paul was awarded the National Defense Service Medal before leaving the Navy in March of 1968.
Paul met Judy in high school and fell in love. They married in 1965 and moved to Rhode Island where Paul was stationed in the Navy. Once he was out of the Navy the couple moved to Connecticut where both daughters were born. Eventually they moved back to Ramsey NJ to be close to family. Paul worked several different jobs from working on heavy machinery at CAT to driving a truck for HomeDecor. Judy and Paul decided to move their family to Ringwood, NJ. Soon after moving in, Paul started working for the Borough of Ringwood’s Water and Road Departments. After many years at the Road Department Paul became Public Works Supervisor. Paul also became certified as a Special Police Officer for the town of Ringwood, NJ. He worked when extra officers were needed for events such as Halloween, graduations, sporting events, town court, parades, carnivals, and election days. He volunteered to help at events for Knights of Columbus fundraisers and Night to Shine events. Paul also worked for Cupsaw Lake Clubhouse (CLIA) as a private security guard. Paul was always willing to pitch in when needed even when he wasn’t on the clock. He received a letter from the Chief of Police, thanking him for his volunteerism to direct traffic in town on his day off, making a serious situation run more smoothly. He also received an award for helping perform CPR on a man who was shot on a mountain. Paul was good under pressure and was always prepared to help in any situation.
Paul and his family are long time parishioners of St. Catherine of Bologna Church in Ringwood. God, faith, and his family always came first in his life. People always talk about how caring, kind, and helpful Paul was. If you needed something all you had to do was ask. If you didn’t ask, chances are Paul would see what you needed and lent a hand. Whether it was changing a flat tire on the side of the road, delivering lunch while you were at work, taking you to summer camp, watching a recital or sports game, going to a special event at school, birthday, graduation, wedding, or just sitting on his porch listening to you talk, that was Paul aka Dad, Daddy, Pops, Pop Pop, Brother, Uncle, Daddy #2, Poppy, Cousin, Surrogate Grandpa, Teddy Bear, friend, and boss. Whatever you or our family was going through Dad was always the strong rock that could get you through anything. Paul was respected, honest, loyal, and loved by so many.
Our family appreciates all the love, support, and condolences. Do you have a special moment, funny story, or a memory of Paul Beaulieu? Please leave them in the comments. Our family would love to hear them and share them with others. Such a great way to keep his memory and spirit alive.
